I think art can be made by anyone — not just those who identify as “artists.” Creative expression takes many forms, whether through painting, design, music, storytelling, or even everyday problem‑solving. That makes me lean toward the idea that art isn’t limited to a select group of people, but rather an ability we all carry to different degrees.

When it comes to whether it’s innate or acquired, I’d say it’s both. Some people seem naturally inclined toward creativity, noticing patterns or expressing emotions visually or musically. But skill and refinement come through practice, study, and exposure to influences. Even the most “gifted” artist usually builds their craft through discipline and experimentation over time.

The role of the artist changes a lot across cultural contexts. In some traditions, artists are seen as truth‑tellers or record‑keepers who preserve history. In others, they’re spiritual mediators, entertainers, or activists. Today, especially in global media spaces, artists also shape conversations about identity, justice, and collective imagination. That fluidity shows how deeply art is connected to the values and needs of the culture around it.
