Two-Dimensional Work: Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night

The composition is dominated by swirling, curved lines that create a sense of motion throughout the sky. The artist uses complementary colors, especially blue and orange, to create strong visual contrast. The brushstrokes are thick and textured, creating rhythm and energy across the canvas. The work is balanced asymmetrically, with large vertical shapes on the left side and a horizontal flow across the rest. Looking at the painting gives me a feeling of restless energy and wonder, as if the night is alive.

Three-Dimensional Work: Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker

The sculpture is composed of smooth and rough surfaces that alternate to emphasize musculature and depth. The figure is compact, with bent limbs creating a dense, triangular form. Light interacts with the bronze surface to create highlights and deep shadows that enhance the form. The weight distribution is uneven, with most mass leaning forward in a contemplative posture. The sculpture makes me feel thoughtful and still, as though caught in a moment of deep reflection
