My Definition of Art

I believe the previous definition of art captures some important aspects, such as creativity, expression, and beauty. However, I feel it might be incomplete if it only focuses on visual beauty or traditional forms like painting or sculpture. Art is not limited to aesthetics—it also includes emotions, messages, and sometimes even discomfort or protest.

What's missing in many definitions is the idea of art as communication—a way for artists to express personal, cultural, political, or emotional ideas. Art can challenge norms, start conversations, or tell stories from unique perspectives.

My definition of art comes from a subjective perspective, because what I see as meaningful or powerful in art might not be the same for someone else. However, I think there’s also room for an objective perspective in terms of technique, historical context, or cultural significance.

In short, art is both personal and shared—it connects the inner world of  the audience.
