Why the dictionary definition seems wrong to me

Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines art as the "conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects.

It seems to me that art does not always pursue the goal of creating aesthetics, just as the concept of aesthetics is very subjective.

The artist does use his skills and imagination, but is aesthetics so important to him, and how aesthetic will the viewer perceive his art?

no aesthetics are really not necessary , but it is not possible for us to not focus on perfection

I see what you're saying but with art being so creative and unique to individuals eye, we cant really determine what perfection would be across the board for everyone.
