Multiplying by zero is easy. The answer is always zero. But why? Can you explain the reason for this to a small child? One way would be to consider \(5\) plates with zero cookies on each. How many cookies are there? \(0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 0\), which is \(5\) times \(0 = 0\)
