When first looking at the painting, I am struck with the darkness of the painting. It sets an ominous mood. Your eyes drift to the incoming clouds of fog, also touched with darkness. The boat is laden with the catch. The whole picture gives you a feeling of heaviness. The hard work, cut short by this natural nemesis.
Overall, I really enjoy the painting. I like how each time I look at it, I find something new I enjoy.
