My Prior Exposure to Visual Art
My exposure to visual art has been a mix of school learning, personal explorations, and social activities. In school, I was introduced to basic drawing, painting, and design principles, but it was mostly structured and skill-focused. Outside of school, I’ve visited exhibitions, craft fairs, and local art events, which gave me a more cultural and experiential connection to art. Socially, I’ve often been part of group activities involving collaborative murals or creative workshops.
My Own Art Practice
Yes, I do make art—mostly in the form of mixed media IN textile arts . My medium ranges from traditional sketching and acrylic paints to digital drawing tools like Procreate . My style leans toward contemporary with elements of abstraction, often blending realistic forms with symbolic patterns. My audience is generally friends, online art communities, and sometimes small local exhibitions.
If I hadn’t started yet, I would have loved to explore ceramics because of their tactile, hands-on nature and deep connection to culture and tradition.
Final Thoughts
Art for me is both a form of self-expression and a way to connect with people from different backgrounds. I’m always curious to see how others approach it in their own ways.
