Each artist offered a unique perspective on artmaking. Cindy Sherman surprised me the most with her transformative self-portraits. El Anatsui focused deeply on the process, using found materials and allowing his works to evolve during creation. Ai Weiwei was most concerned with the ideas behind his work, often addressing political and cultural issues. Nick Cave emphasized materials, building elaborate “Soundsuits” from recycled objects. This experience highlighted the diversity in artistic approaches and the importance of intention, material, and context in creating meaningful art.
