One thing I like about art is how it can be shown in many ways whether it be from drawings, sculpting, filmaking, etc. One of my prior exposures to visual art has been videogames. I loved the story-telling and visual features of the emotions of the characters in the games. For instance, in the God of War series, the protagonist name Kratos was duped into killing his family by the God of War Ares. I loved how the story captivated Kratos' emotions throughtout the game, showing his rage against the God and grief for his family. As the series continues throughout the years (2005-2023), the visuals have improved not only showing more expressions for characters, whether it be their faces or body language, but also the scenery around them which helps create the captivating story and show why it's a popular game series to this day. One day, I hope to be able to create art that shows human expressions like the God of War series instead of just only abstract art.
For my abstract art, I like to do alcohol paintings. One year for my cousin's birthday, we did an activity with friends and family where we made paintings using alcohol ink. Once we were done, we posted the art on the wall and put a sticky note beside the art for people to write a name for the art. After everyone wrote a name, we went around and did a majority vote on what name to have for the arts.
