Over the years, especially during the time that I was attending a local elementary school it has seemed that the only exposure that I have honestly had when it came to any kind of visual art was during the various trips that my class would be taking to the different art museums that had been in the different cities around the school that I was attending during that time. The main museum that the students attending the same school that I was going to was called Munson Williams Proctor Institute. Not only was this place a rather important art museum but it had also offered various classes for children, teens, and adults which usually led to the various paintings that they had done being displayed in various areas of the museum.
In the city where I am currently living there is another place that you could consider as an art museum, even though it is not as popular as the museum that I have previously mentioned. Although the Rome Community Art Center (also known as the RCAC) is a lot smaller than the Munson Williams Proctor Institute, this is another place that offers art classes for people of various ages and it often helps that the building is one of the oldest and most historic buildings in the city where I am currently living. Every year there is a rather large and historic art show held in the main building, which was once built in order to be used as a dance studio as far back as the late 1920s to the early 1930s. It has been the site of various haunted houses that had been held during the month of October, but the main purpose of this building is to display the art that so many people have been working on throughout the year.
Over the years I have made different attempts at creating my own form of art which has not exactly worked out as well as I had honestly hoped that it would have during that time. In the last few years I have become interested in something that is known simply as diamond painting or diamond art. Much like your items that are used for cross-stitching or even those various items that are called “paint by number”, diamond painting combines the two things and the end result is a picture that you had made simply by covering the canvas with the various colors of diamonds that are used to create the picture that you are working on during that time. There are various styles of diamond art that you could find yourself doing and I have learned that this is one thing that requires quite a bit of concentration if you have ever wanted to have your diamond art to turn out in the way that you would eventually want it to.
