I believe defining art as "ART" is completely subjective. Some might like what they see, hear, or read and will praise it as being "ART." While others might not necessarily enjoy or feel anything with whatever it is they are seeing, hearing, or reading and wont classify it as "ART."
I agree, art is subjective. Some find comfort in it, some don't.
