In terms of writing, the use of punctuation is crucial in order to make our words make sense. It can be the difference between a normal sentence and a well-structured piece of writing. The commas, semicolons and question marks are the punctuation marks that can completely change the meaning of a sentence.

When sentence pauses are missing, it becomes boring or disorienting.  When I'm reading a piece of writing that is full of proper punctuation I find it is also loads easier to follow.

The use of tone that is similar to a voice can be achieved through punctuation, which is why we use these marks. Simply put, punctuation turns a list of words into a clear, intelligible message.
