The artists I viewed in the ART21 resources were:

  1. Lenka Clayton

  2. Josh Kline

  3. Delcy Morelos

  4. Sin Wai Kin

  5. Kara Walker

The artist who surprised me the most was Sin Wai Kin, because of the way they used performance, storytelling, and identity to question what it means to be human. Their ability to merge fantasy with reality in such a powerful way was unexpected and very thought-provoking.

The artist most concerned with the process was Lenka Clayton, as her work emphasized everyday actions and routines, focusing on how the act of creating itself carries meaning.

The artist most concerned with creativity in the idea was Josh Kline, whose projects often explore technology, politics, and the human condition in a conceptual way. His focus seemed to be on provoking thought and sparking conversations through the idea itself.

The artist most concerned with materials was Delcy Morelos, since she centered her installations around natural elements like soil and organic substances, highlighting their texture, smell, and cultural significance.

Finally, I also watched Kara Walker, whose use of silhouettes and large-scale installations communicates powerful messages about race, gender, and history. Her work reminded me how art can challenge viewers to confront difficult truths while still being visually striking.
