Expanding the definition of art

Webster’s definition emphasizes the conscious use of skill and creative imagination to produce aesthetic objects. While accurate and I do agree, this definition is narrow, as it excludes the role of personal expression and emotional experience in both creating and interpreting art. Art often serves as a means for the artist to express personal experience and for the viewer to assign personal meaning. Therefore, I agree with the core of the definition but believe it needs expansion to include subjective expression and viewer interpretation as fundamental aspects of art. My definition integrates both subjective (personal experience, expression) and objective (conscious skill, creative imagination) perspectives.
