I don't know what in particular you're looking for, but Irkli Parjiani was a visionary Georgian painter/calligrapher who was born in the Mestia region of Georgia in 1950 and died in 1991. His work bridges the gap of that of tradition and modernity in very deep spritural ways which very rich on an emotional level with a metaphysical style that was used to explore religious themes such as with the case of the Annunciation. The Annunciation in which Irakli did in an endless amount if variations. Irakli used expressive texture through wax crayons and oil pastels with his art style having a blend of the art techniques of abstraction and symbolism. He also dabbled with biblical narratives with the most common being the Gospels that were hand illuminated. There was a sense of ephemerality and transcendence that reflected his spiritual searching and illnesses. Irakli was also part of the Anthroposophist Circle that took place in Tbilisi in which the Circle was made from the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner and created works that defined the artistic norms of the Soviets. With his final series, the Berlin Cycle being a compilation of his journey through art.
