I partially agree with the previous definition of "art" if it focused mainly on formal qualities—like materials, technique, or visual structure. While those aspects are important, I believe this definition is too narrow and leaves out key dimensions of what art can be.

What’s missing is the emotional, cultural, and conceptual impact of art. Art is not just about how something looks or is made—it’s also about how it makes us feel, what it communicates, and the context in which it's created. For example, Kara Walker’s sugar sculpture isn’t just a formal piece; it challenges us to reflect on history, race, and labor.

My definition of art comes from a mostly subjective perspective. I think art is any form of creative expression that evokes thought, emotion, or reflection—whether it’s beautiful, disturbing, or simple. Of course, there are some objective criteria (like technique or composition), but art is deeply personal and can mean different things to different people.
