I viewed videos on Amy Sherald, Miranda July, Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo, Amy Sillman, and Rachel Rossin.

Who surprised me the most? I would have to say Rachel Rossin. It wasn’t until the end of the video that I realized the true extent of her work–– she builds Augmented Reality pieces that involve programming, glass sculpting, and painting.

Which artist was most concerned with the process of making the work?–– Probably Amy Sillman, a painter. She went into great detail on what she uses to paint–– which is anything but a brush.

Which artist was most concerned with creativity in the idea for their art or the work itself–– I would say Amy Sillman once again. She paints abstract and non-objective pieces, and she spoke at length about the mental process of her paintings.

Which artist was most concerned with materials–– Perhaps Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo. She’s a performance artist, which in her case also includes building sets for those performances. She spoke about the meaning each piece of her sets carry.
