I’ve been surrounded by visual art in many forms throughout my life—some through school, some from social experiences, and a whole lot from my own personal curiosity and experimentation. While I didn’t grow up in a household that focused heavily on traditional fine art, I was always drawn to creativity and visual expression, whether through comic books, album covers, or DIY projects.

Now, as an elementary visual arts teacher, making and teaching art is part of my everyday life. I primarily work in mixed media—drawing, digital illustration, sculpture, and collaborative mural design. I also develop interdisciplinary art activities that integrate science, storytelling, and identity. My favorite medium is anything that sparks student engagement and expression. Recently, I’ve been working on a satirical art history card series for kids, blending humor and education, as well as a children’s book that features an expressive leopard mascot named SPOTS.

My style is playful, bold, and purposefully student-centered. I love bright colors, character design, and projects that invite dialogue. My audience is mostly K–6 students, but I also create art for fellow educators and families who value creativity in learning.

Even though I make art professionally, I still consider myself a lifelong learner in the arts. There’s always a new style or technique I want to try—like printmaking or stop-motion animation. I believe art is for everyone, and that includes me too.
